The Catholic Precinct Walking Tour App supports self-guided tours through a series of spaces connected by Catholic ritual, history, learning and administration in the area around St Patrick’s Cathedral in East Melbourne.
There are three versions of the Tour: one for the general public, one for Secondary school teachers and students and one for teachers or families guiding Primary school aged children.
The App includes audio commentary and links that provide information about the rich history and contemporary use of the area, including statues and features, and prominent people who have been associated with it.
As well as the interior and surrounds of St Patricks Cathedral, the Apps features include the Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre, highlights of ACU’s Melbourne campus and its beautiful Art Collection, the Mary Glowrey Museum and St Vincents Hospital Melbourne.
